Dr. Abella is a Licensed Psychologist in Olathe, KS, currently accepting BCBS of KC, Aetna, Tricare, United, and self-pay clients. Lenexa native, TCU graduate ('00), earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology ('06). Licensed since 2007, with experience in outpatient and inpatient mental health. Married with two children, she's passionate about supporting women in pregnancy and postpartum stages. Dr. Katie Kubovy
Dr Kubovy is a chiropractic physician specializing in the diagnosis and management of internal disorders. She received her undergraduate degree from Creighton University and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland University in Kansas City. Dr Kubovy’s fascination with the causes of chronic illness led her to embark on three hundred hours of post-doctoral studies which led to her certification as a Chiropractic Internist (DABCI). Her practice focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of diseases rather than just treating symptoms. She holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Avila University and she is certified as an Intuitive Eating Therapist and is pursuing certification in Body Trust in 2025 through the Center for Body Trust. She works primarily with adults over the age of 18 years old. In addition to working with clients who struggle with eating disorders including binge eating, food restriction, and body image issues, she also works with clients that have experienced symptoms related to trauma, anxiety and depression. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Avila University and a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. With over 20 years of experience working with children in various settings, Beth helps those struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, attachment and relationship issues, and difficulties related to ADHD, Dyslexia, and other learning differences. Susan Hale is a specialist in psychiatry and family practice, with a focus on neuroscience. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing and board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Rockhurst University and Research College of Nursing (2008). She is also a Certified Neuroscience RN through the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and recently earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Cincinnati. Susan works with individuals across all age groups, addressing various mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. Her dual expertise in mental health and family medicine allows for a comprehensive approach to care. She especially enjoys supporting individuals who may appear high-functioning on the outside but internally experience self-doubt, pressure, or difficulty managing emotions. She also has specialized experience working with eating disorders and disordered eating, and understands how these concerns often intersect with broader emotional and relational patterns.
Amy is passionate about helping individuals build a healthier relationship with themselves—whether that shows up through their relationship with food and body image, their thoughts and emotions, or how they relate to others. Vy (pronounced “Vee”) is a therapy practicum student currently training under the supervision of Dr. Abella and Dr. Garlock while pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Kansas City University. With a background in human development and health communications, her path into mental health is rooted in a deep commitment to connection, understanding, and meaningful change. Before graduate school, Vy worked in community-based organizations and public health, developing a strong passion for accessible care and collaborative support. She recently completed a diagnostic practicum focused on working with neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with late-diagnosed autism and ADHD. Outside of the therapy space, she enjoys crafts (especially junk journaling), exploring Kansas City, spending time with loved ones, and caring for her dog. Vy is passionate about integrated care and creating a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. She is honored to walk alongside clients as they pursue intentional and lasting change. Karsen is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Kansas City University, driven by a deep desire to help others and make a meaningful impact. With experience in inpatient psychiatric care, residential substance use treatment, and forensic settings, her clinical interests include health psychology, trauma, substance use, and military psychology. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes empathy, open communication, and evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), all tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
